The 50kt/a PPC carbon dioxide project, part of the integrated new energy and biodegradable materials project undertaken by our company in 2024 for Lianhong Gerun (Shandong) New Materials Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Lianhong Gerun”), has successfully started up. The first feedstock injection resulted in the successful production of qualified liquid carbon dioxide, marking a key step forward for our company in the field of green and low-carbon new materials and laying a solid foundation for the subsequent integrated production of the PPC unit.

This CO₂ project is a critical supporting facility for Lianhong Gerun’s integrated project. Its core function is to process high-concentration CO₂ tail gas generated during the low-temperature methanol stripping decarbonization process. Through multiple precision purification steps—including compression, desulfurization, dehydration, de-alcoholization, and liquefaction distillation—the facility is fully modularized, reducing on-site installation time and costs. As a raw material for PPC products, the CO₂ from this project offers Lianhong Gerun dual benefits of resource recovery and environmental emissions reduction.

Commissioning and debugging officially began on April 20. On April 21, the system was steadily pressurized, and the compressor and refrigeration systems operated smoothly under load, achieving a successful first-time startup. From April 21 to 24, the unit operated continuously and smoothly. All process parameters remained stable and under control, and the quality indicators of the produced liquid carbon dioxide met all requirements. Testing confirmed that the product fully met and exceeded design specifications. Concurrently, the supporting CO₂ pressurization and vaporization system completed commissioning. Key equipment, such as cryogenic shielded pumps and vaporizers, operated stably, with flexible and reliable load regulation that fully met production requirements.

The successful commissioning of this unit was made possible by the collaborative efforts of technical personnel from multiple parties. Through close cooperation and joint efforts among the Lianhong Gerun on-site management team, commissioning personnel from rotating equipment suppliers, and our company’s technical staff, the full-process commissioning tasks were efficiently completed, achieving the excellent results of a successful first-time start-up and stable operation of the unit. Practical results have demonstrated that this project features advanced process technology, rational equipment selection, a high degree of automation, and a compact footprint. Its patented and proprietary core technologies and equipment have reached industry-leading standards, providing an excellent benchmark for the construction of similar projects.
